Wat Phrakaeo Dontao 

      This monastery is located opposite of Lampang town crossing the Rachada Phisek  Bridge, some 2 kms. In Tambon  Wiang Nua, Amphoe Muang. lt  is an important statutory place because the Emerald Buddha had  been housed here for 32 years. There is a 50-meter-high pagoda, housing some hair of Lord Buddha, decorated the top part with Jango gold sheet. At the base of the pagoda there are niches housing the 7 daily Buddha images where  in front of the pagoda situated a Burmese style Vihara housing very beautiful Burmese style Buddha images.
